Jackson B. Bruce
Dr. Jackson B. Bruce is a board-certified physician who has been practicing family medicine at Piedmont Family Practice since 1996. Prior to that he practiced in Elberton Georgia. He still has patients who travel all the way from Georgia to see him. He earned his undergraduate degree in Horticulture, and he is still an avid gardener. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1989 and completed his residency training in family medicine at Ghent Family Practice in Norfolk, Virginia in 1992
In addition to his time at Piedmont Family Practice, Dr. Bruce also currently serves the community through Healthcare for the Homeless. This is a grant program which uses a Mobile Medical Unit Care Team to provide medical care services to individuals experiencing homelessness using a 35-foot mobile medical unit at strategic collaborative partner agency locations throughout thirteen counties of the Upstate. Dr. Bruce precepts medical students at Piedmont Family practice from both MUSC and VCOM and was recently chosen as Preceptor of the Year by VCOM students.
He enjoys sharing his passion for patient centered healthcare with future physicians. Outside of work, Dr. Bruce enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with his wife and two sons. He is currently learning to play the mandolin.
